The final leg of the trip back to Michigan ended in Grand Ledge. I was tucked in for the winter or until an opportunity arose in which van dad could get some more DIY time. That time presented itself in mid January. Unfortunately for all the sled heads in Michigan, there was a snow drought. The forecast was dismal for about 10 days, so my van parents left snow-less Grand Marais and headed for Grand Ledge…..they really missed me!
The poll barn was a great place to be out of the weather. Running a milk house heater in my interior made for a pretty cozy place to work. Two big projects were completed. The ceiling insulation was finished as well as getting the floor fully insulated. Lastly, two max air fans were installed in my roof. There was a lot of checking and double checking (cheapest checks you can write) to make sure the measurements were perfect before cutting two 14″ x 14″ holes in my roof. The holes were correct and the max fans will be great for when the weather turns toasty. They have 10 speeds, are bidirectional and have a hood so they can be run in the rain as well as remote controls and thermostats. They are deluxe….nothing but the best for Sunday!
