Van mom loves to ride her bicycle. She tells van dad that she loves him as much as her bicycle, so she must love him a lot.! Now that she is older and her knees won’t tolerate running, she is biking more than ever. Since she is retired and has this really cool van, that would be moi, she would like to do cycling tours in new and different places. She got that chance while in Texas. Pedal for a Purpose was being held in Waller Texas, which is about an hour from Texas daughters farmstead. The ride started at 7:30 am with a mass start. That would mean getting up way to early to make the drive to Waller. Van mom is retired after all. So, everything got loaded up Friday night and we all spent a very nice evening in the Waller ISD parking lot. Saturday was sunny and very windy, as is every day in Texas I am noticing, but it was a great day to ride. One notable, every single intersection had police stopping traffic and letting cyclists through. Apparently, this is the norm in Texas. Van mom got in 70 miles and was gloriously exhausted.. If you have never seen a Texas high school football stadium……they are about the same size as Central Michigan’s stadium. Friday night lights is a very real thing
