Today marks the three year anniversary of selling the hardware store. There have been a number of ”marker moments” in my life and this one is close to the top. I could never of imagined that we would be tooling around in a van 3 yrs ago, but here we are.
Boy did the wind blow last night. If there was one downside to our beautiful camp site, it was that it caught all the wind coming off the lake. We moved the van over to the section of campground that had an open bath house. I got in a workout, we both got showers and a hot breakfast before the rain started. It pretty much rained all day and the temps dropped down to 50 degrees.
We made it a short day, 200 miles, and landed at Indian Cave State Park in Nebraska. This park boasts that it is the most beautiful state park in Nebraska. Take a look at the pictures and see if you agree.

We were able to camp right on the Missouri River. Named for the large sandstone cave within the park, Indian Cave State Park encompasses 3,052 rugged acres. Very very hilly. Trails for hikers as well as equestrians . It is so amazing being able to pull into these state parks with no reservations and get such beautiful places to camp. The off season is the best time to travel.
