Semper Gumbi as my daughter likes to say…..always flexible. The plan was to drive across northern Missouri and Kansas and land in Marysville Kansas where we would camp in a park in town, go to a local gym, get a workout and a shower and then ride the Blue River bike trail the next day. The drive across the northern tiers of MO and KS was spectacular. The wind from the backside of the storm was pretty epic, enough that Mike drove all day with BOTH hands on the wheel. The campground in Marysville was a bust, lesson learned, no facilities and no privacy. We did get a shower but no workout and no where to camp. Thing do manage to work out tho. Mike found a conservation area not to far north of Marysville, the Big Indian Recreation Area which covers 233 acres and includes a 77 acre lake. Numerous sites all well spread out. Non electric cost $5. Very beautiful and it had facilities that were open!
It even had a helipad…..go figure.
