Such a beautiful morning. I got to lay in bed drink my coffee and watch the sun come up over the lake. Such a gift. A fisherman was launching his boat and the birds were singing. This lake has numerous rock jetties that allows people to really ”get out” into the lake to fish. Got in a good workout and then hit the road. We pretty much headed straight south. One thing that can’t be missed is all the really large areas of burnt grass, acres and acres. Mike supposes this is for faster and better grazing in the spring.

We did find Spring in southern Kansas.. We saw the first flowering trees and the wheat was so green. We just heard that Spring moves 14 miles per day. According to my rough calculations, it should arrive in Grand Ledge about 41 days from now. The wind blew like crazy again today. Bucking the wind and pulling the trailer makes Sunday very thirsty.
We landed in Osage Cove campground on Kaw lake, which is a large flooding of the Arkansas River. Huge campground with hardly anyone here. A great spot to relax and enjoy the warm breeze off the lake and a beautiful sunset. I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
